Morgan 4/4 :
Our Morgan was built in late 1988 and sold in Canada as a 1989. The Morgan Motor Company, a family business, has manufactured cars since 1910. Morgan Motors is a coachbuilder thus the drivetrain of the car is sourced from other automobile manufacturers, for example, Ford and recently BMW. Our Morgan is designated as a 4/4, four cylinders and four wheels. The first Morgans were three wheel vehicles powered by either a BSA or JAP air-cooled engine. Our Morgan has a Ford cross flow 1600cc engine with a 32mm Weber downdraught carburettor and a 5-speed transmission. The body colour of this two-seater is Mercedes Desert Red (ICI); the interior is gray connolly leather with red piping and maroon carpets. The 4/4 is stock without modification.
Austin Healey 3000 - BJ8: The BJ8 was the last model of the big Healeys. This model had an early and a late Phase, known as Phase I and II, respectively. The BJ8 was produced between October 1963 and early March 1968. The car is a four seater with a six cylinder 2.91 liter engine with two 2 inch SU carburettors. The transmission is a four speed with overdrive in 3rd and 4th gear. Our 1965 BJ8 was originally from the prairies, it was purchased in 1970 by a nineteen year old in Windsor, Ontario. It was his daily driver. In 1980 he moved to British Columbia and he stored the Healey in a barn on his uncle's farm in Ontario. In 1994 he returned east with the intent to drive the Healey back to British Columbia. To his surprise most of the steel sheet metal had rusted away. The car was purchased by Jule Enterprises. It was used as a project car on which several members of the AHC of Southern Ontario learned about restoration. Neither the engine nor transmission received attention. In the summer of 2000 a friend and I rebuilt the engine and serviced the transmission. Changes to the engine included: porting and polishing, stainless steel valves and hardened valve seats; DW road/rally camshaft; vane oil pump; spin-on oil filter; oil cooler; aluminium sump; new HD8 carburettors; and a Delco alternator. Recent changes have included new rear springs; new u-joints; and rear disc brakes to replace the original rear drum brakes.
Austin Healey BN1 The latest addition is an early BN1, built in late November 1953, originally Coronet Cream with blue trim. The restoration on this car has begun; and I hope to have it complete by the spring of 2012.
